Hey everyone! this has been an up and down week for us, Tuesday and Wednesday was pretty much a usual day but Thursday was a little different. At about 9 o clock thursday morning we had a knock at our door and we never have anyone come to our apartment so we didnt know what to do! haha when we decided to open the door we found out it was President McConkie and he wanted to do companionship study with us.( there arent very many missionaries that get the oppurtunity to study with their mission president by the way) so it was pretty special. It was the most spiritual study session ever and afterwords he went out tracting with us! the people we contacted while we were with him didnt give us very much attention, even with our 6 foot 7 inch mission presisdent with us. President just reminded us that we are miracle workers and to keep trying. It was the boost that my companion and i needed to get us through the week. Yesterday though was a different story. We got done with church and immediatly came back and got onto our bikes to go out tracting a few miles down the road. After knocking on a few doors we came to a house that looked nice until a pitbull ran off the porch and decided to take a bite out of my calve. Haha it was an experience. I limped back to my bike and we called our mission mom, Sister McConkie. She asked me if i wanted to go to the ER and i told her "heck no!" so she told us to call animal control and have them pick up the dog to have it checked for rabbies. So for an hour this morning i was on the phone with Kershaw County health department trying to file a report with them. ahhhhhhh it was a pain, both physically and mentally. My companion said im getting all of my rough days out of the way at the beggining of my mission haha. Im doing okay though and we are still trying to find those who have been prepared for us. One of the Zone leaders said in our meeting the other day that the doctrine of Christ makes unbearable things bearable. And it really does. That is the only reason i keep doing this is because i want these people to know what i know. No effort is ever wasted in the mission field or when spreading the gospel. I dont know why but my companion and i keep coming up with sayings for the district but the one this week is, "This is our Worship, This is our Life, To bring hope into this broken world".
